Lil Wayne's Controversial BET Awards Performance Explained

In the days since Sunday (June 28) night's BET Awards people have been vocal about their displeasure over Lil Wayne and Young Money's performance. While performing the song Every Girl, the Young Money entourage where accompanied on stage by what appeared to be underage girls. The move was apparently a last second decision. according to SOHH, who quoted an unnamed source inside T.I. girlfriend Tiny's camp.

According to the source, Wayne's daughter Reginae, 9, was upset that she didn't get the chance to accompany her father, Lil Wayne, to the stage to accept his award because she was sitting too far back in the audience. Once backstage, the youngster began to cry and Wayne, who they say is a great dad, hated to see his little girl cry. So he told Reginae that she could come out onstage during his performance with Drake. Reginae then asked the other members of her group to go out on stage with her.

Hip-Hop and mainstream journalist and radio personalities have been expressing their displeasure with the performance in the days following the show.
