Lil' Wayne's much discussed and delayed rock album Rebirth has been pushed back for the umpteenth time, leaving many fans and critics questioning whether the effort will ever actually see the light of day.

Despite numerous reports confirming the release date as one day or another, word around town now is that the album won't hit stores until December 15, ten days before Christmas.

According to Rap Up.com the rapper's camp chose to wait until the holiday season to drop the project in order to cash in on consumers heavy holiday spending.

In a recent interview with SOHH, Young Money's resident R&B singer Shanell spoke on the album and its many delays.

"It 'does' exist and it's incredible in my eyes," Shanell promised. "I really think it shows another side of Wayne and Young Money because everybody's on it. Everybody's been able to express somewhat an alternative side of themselves so it's gonna be interesting, it's going to be different. There's a lot of rapping, but there's a lot of other stuff. I just think the world is ready to hear some different music. He's a creative person and you can't rush creativity and as you saw even with Tha Carter 3 album, that was pushed back and pushed back and pushed back but when it came out? It blew up and it was a great album so I would say, you know, good things come to those who wait."

Music has always been one of those creative outlets that can't be confined or considered constant because musicians are continuously trying to take the craft to the next level. What used to be a solo feat I snow being pursued with multiplicity as artists are now joining forces in order to take music to a higher form.

Such alliances that are formed for the greater good of music are known as supergroups dubbed with a three-letter acronym. Supergroups such as LSG (Gerald Levert, Keith Sweat, and Johnny Gill), TGT (Tyrese, Ginuwine, and Tank), and CRS (Pharrell, Lupe Fiasco, and Kanye West) have only managed to take music up a few notches, if at all.

Now a new crop of rising icons are up for the task.

According to reports, Fabolous, Ryan Leslie and Ne-Yo are reportedly planning to form a supergroup and record a full-length album.

Ryan Leslie told MTV, "We're talking about a triple-team collaboration that's really gonna hurt the game. Your boy Fab, the boy Ne-Yo and yours truly on the board. It's really gonna put a hurting on everybody."

Leslie also makes it clear that the success of the supergroup is inevitable because of their approach and commitment to quality.

"The table is open - if you're bringing something to the table, you can break bread. It's about conceptualizing. It's not gonna be a project that's thrown together," he revealed. "It's gonna be a real roundtable, and we're gonna talk about really putting something in the atmosphere that contributes something that's never been done before."
