Move over Vanessa Williams! You're not the only history-making pageant winner to relinquish your crown due to a scandal.
Rachel Christie, who was the first black woman to be crowned 'Miss England' in July, has relinquished her crown after being arrested on suspicion of a nightclub assault.
According to published reports, Christie became involved in a dispute with another beauty queen, Miss Manchester Sara Beverley Jones, at a night-spot earlier this week, when she was allegedly punched in the face after arguing about Tornado -- a gladiator who appears in a popular English television show.
His real name is David McIntosh, and it is believed that Jones, a club promoter and would-be actress, is his ex-girlfriend while Christie is his current lover.A statement from Miss England organizers said Christie, 21, wanted to concentrate on clearing her name.
But all is not lost for the bronze beauty; she's a medal winning athlete; she can transcend in other areas like Vanessa Williams., who went on to become a major superstar after giving up her Miss America crown in 1983 when nude photos of her were leaked and published.
