Folks Mad At Lil Mama For Poppin’ Off On A Transgendered Person

Lil Mama–judge of “America’s Next Best Dance Crew”–told a transgendered dancer on the show recently that she’s too…transgendered. When it comes to her behavior that is. Apparently transgendered contestant Leiomy was throwing a fit at rehearsals and saying she wanted to go home. So Lil Mama told her on the show:

“Leiomy, come on. Your behavior…it’s unacceptable. I just feel that you always have to remember your truth. You were born a man and you are becoming a woman. If you’re going to become a woman, act like a lady. Don’t be a bird, like ‘Oh my god, I’m not doing this!’ You know what I’m saying? It gets too crazy and it gets confusing. You’re doing this for America. Even though you’re the face for transgenders, you’re the face of America right now with this group and it’s not about anybody else. It’s about y’all. You know what I’m saying? So do it for the team. Do it for the team.”

Apparently folks were up in arms. So here’s the letter she sent to GLAAD to apologize:

I would like to clarify anything that was misunderstood from Sunday’s show. My remarks were never meant to be disrespectful regarding Leiomy’s gender nor offensive to the LGBT community, which has been a community that has supported me in all my endeavors. However, in hindsight, I recognize that my words may have come across as hurtful. I spoke with her privately after the taping to express that it was not my intent to offend her or any member of the transgender community and that I still live for Vogue Evolution.”

I just went to the Latex Ball in New York. Oh, my God! I have never seen so much creativity in one room. So much freedom. That’s what I appreciate about the gay community. You know: Do you and don’t worry about other people and their opinions. It’s so colorful and lively, and everybody’s not sitting around and — you know when you go to a club and everybody’s sitting around and standing along the walls and people watch? It’s not about that. Everybody [at gay clubs] is ready to let their hair down and have fun and get into it, and that’s about love.

Katherine Jackson, overcome by sorrow, turned back when she was faced with her son's final resting place.

On a sultry Thursday evening, amid a sea of white flowers and with a bejeweled crown placed atop his casket by his children, the King of Pop was given an intimate, private version of the lavish public memorial held shortly after his death in June.

->Paris and brothers Prince Michael, 12, and Prince Michael II, 7, known as Blanket, began the service by placing the crown on their father's golden casket. They were composed through most of the hour-and-a-half ceremony.

->Gladys Knight's performance of the hymn "Our Father" (The Lord's Prayer) soared in the vast mausoleum and moved many to tears.

->The Rev. Al Sharpton, who gave a eulogy at the public event and at Thursday's service, also extolled Knight's earlier performance of "His Eye is on the Sparrow."

"Gladys Knight sang her heart out. Now we prepare to lay him to rest," Sharpton posted on his Twitter account during the service that was held outside and then within the marble mausoleum.

->The mourners followed the crowned, lushly flower-draped casket as Jackson's five brothers — each wearing a bright red tie and a single crystal-studded glove — carried it into the mausoleum. The 11-year-old Paris cried as the group entered the imposing building and was comforted by her aunt, LaToya.

->As it ended, Katherine Jackson appeared extremely weary and had to be helped to her car, according to the guest. Earlier, she had a difficult time going into the mausoleum; she was overcome, turned back, and it wasn't clear if she went in at all, the guest said.

The Jackson family's tardy arrival delayed the service for nearly two hours; no explanation was given to mourners. The invitation notice indicated the service would begin promptly at 7 p.m.; it began closer to 8:30.

Jackson will share eternity at Forest Lawn with the likes of Clark Gable, Jean Harlow and W.C. Fields, entombed alongside them in the mausoleum that will be all but off-limits to adoring fans who might otherwise turn the pop star's grave into a shrine.

The closest the public will be able to get to Jackson's vault is a portion of the mausoleum that displays "The Last Supper Window," a life-size stained-glass re-creation of Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece. Several 10-minute presentations about the window are held regularly 365 days a year, but most of the building is restricted.

The Jackson family had booked an Italian restaurant in Pasadena for a gathering Thursday night, and family members and guests were seen coming and going late into the night.

The ceremony ends months of speculation that the singer's body would be buried at Neverland Ranch, in part to make the property a Graceland-style attraction. An amended copy of Jackson's death certificate was filed Thursday in Los Angeles County to reflect Forest Lawn as his final resting place.

In court on Wednesday, it was disclosed that 12 burial spaces were being purchased by Jackson's estate at Forest Lawn Glendale, about eight miles (13 kilometers) north of downtown Los Angeles, but no details were offered on how they would be used.

The King of Pop died a drug-induced death June 25 at age 50 as he was about to embark on a comeback attempt. The coroner's office has labeled the death a homicide, and Jackson's death certificate lists "injection by another" as the cause.

Dr. Conrad Murray, Jackson's personal physician, told detectives he gave the singer a series of sedatives and the powerful anesthetic propofol to help him sleep. But prosecutors are still investigating, and no charges have been filed.

Max B Gets 75 Years In Prison

Max B was sentenced Thursday to 75 years in prison for masterminding a deadly robbery at a Fort Lee hotel four years ago. His stepbrother received a life term plus 35 years for his part in the scheme.

Charly Wingate, better known in hip-hop circles as “Max B,” was convicted of felony murder, kidnapping, armed robbery and several other offenses in a June trial in which witnesses testified that he planned the September 2006 robbery at the Holiday Inn on Route 4.

His co-defendant and stepbrother, Kelvin Leerdam, was convicted of the same counts after jurors found that he shot one of the robbery victims, David Taylor.

Both Wingate and Leerdam looked resigned when Superior Court Judge Harry G. Carroll sentenced them in Hackensack. Wingate said he was not happy with his attorney, Gerald Saluti, and fired him during the hearing just before he received his sentence.

Explicit Tape: Actress Maia Campbell Prostitution, Crack Scandal???

A supposed ‘crack video’ of actress, Maia Campbell, has surfaced online showing the former star actress of the popular 1990s television show “In The House” which also starred rapper LL Cool J, sitting, apparently prostituting herself, in a car having an explicit, mature, and graphic conversation with a man filming the entire talk with Campbell, who was not at all pleased about being filmed.


The supposed ‘crack video’ was allegedly shot in the Los Angeles County city of Compton in California and seems to show a distorted view of Maia Campbell, someone who already has a negative stigma of drug abuse surrounding her ever since a previous videotape of a half-naked Maia Campbell allegedly on crack surfaced back in early 2007.

She starts off rapping talking about drugs, then goes into a violent, explicit, mature, graphic and awkward state when the man begins to taunt her more and more as she encourages him to stop filming her.

Mike Epps To Host 2009 BET Hip Hop Awards

omedian Mike Epps has been named the host of this year's BET Hip Hop Awards, making his mark as only the third person to be graced with the responsibility.

Preceded only by Katt Williams and T-Pain, Epps will take the stage as this year's host after much speculation and deliberation.

Epps has had an impressive career, starring as the host of HBO's Def Comedy Jam, as well as in films like All About The Benjamins, Next Friday, Friday After Next, The Fighting Temptations, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Next Day Air, and Janky Promoters.

In addition to his work on the big and small screens, Epps has a comedy album, Funny Bidness, in the works and is also preparing for the premiere of his Showtime special Under-rated and Never Faded - Live from Detroit on October 3.

Stars React To Chris Brown's "Larry King Live" Interview//&LARRY gets dissed for not getting answers

Chris Brown's first televised interview since the infamous Rihanna incident premiered on Larry King Live last night (September 2) and stars like Ja Rule and Styles P wasted no time in giving their opinion on what went down.

Instead of focusing in on what Brown was saying, rapper Ja Rule went in on the singer's attire before praising his mother's presence.

"Why is this n*gga chris brown wearing a powder blue bow tie," Ja wrote on Twitter last night. "I like that his moms is there... Shout to all my strong women."

Styles P, however, expressed a bit more emotion about the situation, questioning the public's love for R. Kelly despite his alleged issues and calling out King for the questions he asked Brown.

"Yall took r.kelly back and that was a million times worst!!," he wrote. "As matter of fact a lot of yall motherf***ers wasn't even mad at him let cb live F*ck larry king I never seen him go this hard on anyone! And rhianna is west indian you know she was f*ccckking cb up! Also displeased with the interview King conducted, R&B singer turned radio personality Lil' Mo also expressed her desire to put an end to the entire fiasco.

The lone Rap act still in the Top 10 this week was California's Black Eyed Peas . Quite distant from their Ruthless Records roots on The E.N.D. , Interscope's other big money-maker is just one week away from Rap's second platinum plaque handed out to 2009 releases. Label-mate Eminem sank to #28 with his Relapse , an album that may reach 1.5 million units sold before October.

This week's charts welcomed urban newcomers. Former Destiny's Child member Letoya Luckett released her second solo album, Lady Love. The Capitol Records release debuted at #12, with just over 30,000 first week units sold. Ludacris and MIMS guest on the release. Queen Latifah's first Rap release in 11 years debuted inside the Top 25. Released independently on her famed '90s imprint Flavor Unit, Latifah's Persona featured an album almost entirely produced by Florida hit-makers Cool & Dre. The other debut release came from Alternative emcee Matisyahu. The third album from the West Chester, Pennsylvania native focuses more on his Reggae influence, boasting production from Sly & Robbie.

Jay-Z Tells Oprah About Wedding Day, Violent Past

Pictures of Jay-Z's interview with talk show queen Oprah made their way across hip hop websites and blogs recently. Now snippets from the interview have hit the 'net, revealing a never-before-seen side of the Brooklyn native.

During the interview, which is to be featured in the October issue of Oprah's O magazine, Jay got deep, speaking on a near-death experience he had as a young drug dealer and his secret marriage to R&B star Beyonce.

"Very few people knew," Jay said of his 2008 wedding. "The sad part is that we offended some. But people who love you understand. Because at the end of the day, it's your day."

Oprah, who has made no secret of her poor opinion of rappers in the past, also delved into Jay's pre-music business employment as a drug dealer, a choice the rapper blames on the lack of role models in his neighborhood.

At 13 he was selling crack. By 30 he was a hip-hop legend—having gone, in his words, “from grams to Grammys.” Now Jay-Z charts his escape from the hard-knock life, describes the reunion that healed the wounds of his childhood—and even reveals the standing Sunday date he has with what’s her name.

Oprah: So tell me how you got into the drug dealing.

Jay-Z: It was natural.…

Oprah: Because drug dealers were your role models. There wasn’t a teacher or a lawyer or a nurse or a doctor or an accountant in the neighborhood?

Jay-Z: Well, we were living in Marcy by then, so, no. And if anyone did become something like that, they moved out. They never came back to share the wisdom of how they made it. If anyone made it, you never knew it. That’s why I’ve always said that if I became successful, I’d come back here, grab somebody, and show him how it can be done.

Oprah: So by the time you were 13, this was a way of life. Did the lifestyle frighten you?

Jay-Z: No. It was normal. And at some point, you become addicted to the feeling. The uncertainty and adrenaline and danger of that lifestyle.

Oprah: This is where we differ. This is where we differ. Because I’d be very scared! Weren’t you shot at three times—within six feet—and you lived to talk about it?

Jay-Z: That was divine intervention. Divine intervention, and nobody knowing how to shoot.

Oprah: What happened in each situation?

Jay-Z: It was one situation, three shots.

Oprah: So he was a bad shot.

Jay-Z: Well, no one really practices shooting a TEC-9 machine gun, right? And when you’re a kid, with little bony arms—no wonder nobody could aim.

Oprah: Many of the little boys who grew up in the Marcy projects are either in jail or dead. Why do you think you got to grow up and buy your mom a house

?

Jay-Z: There’s the gift, there’s the spirit, and there’s the work—all three have to come together. If one of those things is off, it can stop you from becoming who you were meant to be.

Oprah: When I met you a few years ago, we discussed our disagreement over the use of the N word and misogynist lyrics in rap music. Do you believe that using the N word is necessary?

Jay-Z: Nothing is necessary. It’s just become part of the way we communicate. My generation hasn’t had the same experience with that word that generations of people before us had. We weren’t so close to the pain. So in our way, we disarmed the word. We took the fire pin out of the grenade.
