GWOODA Reflects Personally Back On THE DECADE & Year 09

There's a brief window of time every year during the busy holiday season, after the Christmas celebration is over before the New Year's parties, where we are encouraged to Pause and Reflect.It is a holiday tradition.
As 2009 has came to a close, it is easy to focus on the many problems of the last year. The Great Recession, as it is now being called, has left millions of Americans unemployed, the most since 1983. Although there are signs of economic recovery, it is unlikely to be strong enough to lower the unemployment rate any time soon. Another big issue SWINE FLU..The virus has killed thousands WORLDWIDE IN THE LAST YEAR, and remains a threat in the coming months. and HEATH CARE ISSUE. this is something that also will affect many Americans in the year and Decade to come. CLIMATE CHANGE also is another issue, that Must be taken very seriously in the Next year and Decade...
For many of us, whom are like I myself in my Twenty's, and was apart of what we call the "GREATEST GENERATION" the High School classes of 99-09.. The era of the Internet, and Trends.. and Young people actually having SOLID BASE PRINTS in a more mature debate.
So for us, it is the first time we have endured difficult economic times. THE DECADE. I can yet remember all the trends, the era of Braids, Dreads.,Baggy pants. and so many High School moments & more.
The last of the GREAT 90's elements music. GRADUATION, FIRST LOVE, FIRST MAJOR BREAK UP.KNOWING WHAT LOVE WAS. AND BILLS. & I think this a big one for us all. FAKE FRIENDS...
This DECADE has taught me so much as a person...... I lost so many people close to me personally. A Father, Brother, Grand Parent.. and a host other Family members & FRIENDS.
I take it all in now, because of my natural maturity, many YOUNG KATS didn't get to see a full 10 years out.SO be thankful & grateful....
NOW WITH THAT LAST PART BEING SAID. Many of US present now wont see the new DECADE full 10 years out. SCARY but oh so true.. So for I myself and much of my FAMILY. I just pray that I do, and much of them also see another full 10 years.
REALITY: For the classes of 99-09.. The NEW DECADE will bring us into our 30's and Late Twenty's/ Mid Twenty's & most of our children, will be TEENS ..... ARE YOU READY LOL.... smh I'm not...

A DECADE Of FlashBacks That Affected The BLK Community

Can you say WOW!, I mean 10 years gone already..Whiten these 10 years, so much has occurred that has effected the BLK COMMUNITY.... And also this being the DECADE so many!!! Wonderful inspiring Iconic and Legendary BLK ENTERTAINERS PASSED AWAY.
Lets Recap.
The election of the 44th President of the United States...But the first Blk American FAMILY.
This had to be the #1 ground breaking thing the DECADE
#2 The KATRINA Victims. This yet have me sad, when I think about what those people went through.. The WORLD saw our own Did so badly .The many that did survive can survive anywhere in the WORLD. 5 st8 days with out FOOD! I love the SOUTHERN LOUISIANA BLK CULTURE. It's amazing the ACCENT, and Culture period. I SALUTE everyone who was apart of what happened to the GREAT CITY of NEW ORELEANS.... Some have now relocated. some went back home. It takes talking to a person who experienced what happened to fully understand what WASN'T SHOWN on TV.
#3 Micheal Bell & the JENA 6... Once again Bush left us out in the cold, in the same state that KATRINA happened in. but for the first time BLK formed and put a force to what was and is Wrong.
#4 the SLAYING of 4 Blk College Students in Newark,NJ....
Killed for no reason at all .Blk Youth trying to Make a Difference.
#5 The DC sniper... The first time Blk America, had
saw a Blk man going on a full ramped killing spree.
#6 Genarlow Wilson the promising high school athlete star
.Wilson who was inprisonated 2years, for a wrongly accused crime.
He then 17 .a foolish LAW that we saw the STATE OF Georgia have.
#8 Oscar Grant III, Fatally Shot By Police Officer On Subway Train ...
What was even more bad is, that the WORLD saw it on video.
#9 Derrion Albert the Chi- Town teen, whom was and High School
Honor Roll student.Beaten to death in a campus fight.Who didn't do anything
#10 RIHANNA showed the World the Domestic Violence is yet present
