
The 41st NAACP Image Awards nominations were released today and, as expected, 'Precious: Based on the novel 'Push' by Sapphire' led the pack with eight nominations.
The Tyler Perry-Oprah Winfrey-produced film grabbed nods for best film; best director for Lee Daniels; best screenplay for Geoffrey Fletcher; best actress for Gabourey Sidibe; best supporting actress for Mariah Carey, Mo'Nique and Paula Patton; and best supporting actor for Lenny Kravitz.
Also receiving multiple nominations was 'The Blind Side,' with four, followed by 'Invictus' with three.
Among the snubbed were Nicole Beharie from 'American Violet', Michael Jai White for 'Black Dynamite,' Naturi Naughton for her supporting role in 'Notorious,' and Maya Rudolph from 'Away We Go.'
The Image Awards honoring diversity in the arts will be presented Feb. 26 and broadcast live on Fox.
