Trey Songz Goes Shirtless for VMAN

Trey Songz

Trey Songz strips down in the pages of men’s fashion magazine VMAN. The R&B heartthrob provides some eye candy for the ladies, baring his tatted chest in the black-and-white images photographed by Bruce Weber. The 27-year-old singer spoke to supermodel Selita Ebanks about his upcoming album Chapter 5, his Angels with Heart foundation, and his advice for victims of cyber bullying.

On his fifth album Chapter 5: “I think the new album will reflect very much where I’m going as a person and what I’ve been through. Music, for me, is very much an expression of how I felt at the time when that song was made. And it’s almost been a year and a half since I put my last album out [2010's Passion, Pain & Pleasure], so we’ll see how much I’ve grown and how much I’ve changed since that album’s dropped.”

On why he started his Angels with Heart foundation: “I remember coming up in Virginia, and a lot of kids would get in trouble after school and get into situations they didn’t need to be in because they’d be home alone and they didn’t have places to go. I came from a situation where I got clothes from the Salvation Army and I was on welfare, so to be able to contribute to people who are in need, like how I needed and how my mother needed back then, it’s something that I’m truly blessed to be able to do.

On cyber bullying: “Bullying is childish, and a lot of kids get stuck in situations where obviously something is wrong at home, so it’s kind of a release for them. It’s a comfort blanket and it’s affecting so many people as well as themselves. It’s important to speak not only to the people being bullied but to the bullies as well. To the people out there who are being bullied, just stay strong. There’s only one you.”

Trey will launch his nationwide “Anticipation 2our” with Big Sean on February 9 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Drake Charges Into Super Bowl Weekend

Drake

The liquor was flowing freely as Drake kicked off Super Bowl XLVI weekend. The Canadian superstar headlined ESPN the Magazine’s 8th Annual NEXT party in Indianapolis on Friday night ahead of Sunday’s big game. He passed out drinks to the audience from the stage and performed crowd favorites including “The Motto” and “Headlines” before heading over to First Down Friday at Sensu, where the party continued into the early morning.

But it hasn’t been all fun and games for the Young Money MC as of late. Earlier in the week, a woman named Ericka Lee filed a lawsuit against Drake, claiming she co-wrote “Marvin’s Room” but never received credit. (She is the voice heard on the other end of the phone call.) She maintains that they had a romantic relationship, which Drake has denied. According to his attorneys, the issue was dealt with beforehand and has no merit.

“This claim is entirely without merit and our client has not engaged in any wrongful conduct,” Drake’s reps told The Hollywood Reporter. “Ericka Lee consented to the use of her voice in the song ‘Marvin’s Room’ prior to its release.”

Tons of celebs came out for T.I.'s big AKOO Fashion Show last night in Atlanta. And Mr. Harris made it a family affair by having his sons, Domani, Messiah, & King walk the runway and his step-daughter, Zonnique, perform for the occasion.

Last night at Reign nightclub in Atlanta, rapper T.I. hosted the Akoo (his clothing line) Fashion Show, sponsored by ReeBok and Grey Goose. Comedian Kevin Hart and Kenny Burns were the hosts of the evening. And celebs filled the place for the show, featuring none other than T.I. and Tiny's own sons as three of the models.

Tiny was there front and center to support her man of course.

"ATL Housewife" Cynthia Bailey, Kalenna, and Keri Hilson were all there front row.

By the way, Ms. Keri sang Happy Birthday to Messiah as he was celebrating turning 11.

NeNe Leakes & ACTOR Brain White GO AT IT WITH WORDS!!!

da BLITZ in the INDUSTRY (EMAIL) gawood8@gmail.com (TWITTER)gwooda

NeNe Leakes wasn't too happy when she found out that actor Brian White had called her a racial stereotype" during a recent rant. The "RHOA" star took to Twitter to defend herself

She defended "RHOA" saying they've never had a fist fight on the show and then added that "actors" seem to get upset with reality stars when they start booking acting gigs. She just tweeted:

NeNe (who first appeared on "Glee" on Jan 17th) will make her second appearance on the hit tv show on Feb. 7th. She tweeted,

Next Tuesday nite Feb 7th I'm back on Glee! Now u don't wanna miss Coach Roz go head 2 head wit Sue Sylvester! This gone b good! #hellokitty

And it doesn't stop there...Ms. Leakes will be co-hosting "The Talk" next Wed and Thurs.

Brian White RANTS About Racial Stereotypes, Says Black Women Like NeNe Leakes Are Portrayed As REALISTIC

Actor Brian White recently sat for an interview where he ranted about racial sterotypes on reality shows, then he shockingly (even though his statement had truth to it) revealed that he thinks many Black women do act like NeNe Leakes. So people claiming black women get "stereotyped" isn't necessarily the case. Get the deets inside.....

It must have gotten under Brian White's skin when folks talked trash about his interracial marraige. He popped off then, and now he's stating something that's comes off just a bit attacking--despite the truth in it. During a recent interview, the traveling production What My Husband Doesn't Know star went on a long rant about racial sterotypes on reality televison. He also said he believes many Black women in fact do act like NeNe Leakes. So people getting upset by racial sterotypes should actually be getting upset at the "reality" itself. And also, what is being glorified and shown as the "reality" of black women (I do agree with him on that part). Read the highlights....

What is your insight on the Spike Lee vs. Tyler Perry beef? Why do you think people hate Tyler Perry so much?
Because Tyler holds a mirror up to people. Stereotypes are not stereotypes today. The most popular character [in Why Did I Get Married?], and it’s not the one that Tyler picked as the most popular, is Tasha! You have Janet Jackson and Jill Scott; my point is Jill Scott and Janet are huge music stars with huge fan bases, Tasha became the most popular because her character is portrayed the most like “Love & Hip Hop” the most like, “Desperate Housewives of Atlanta,” [we think he means "Housewives Of Atlanta] you might as well switch it around and pop in Nene [Leaks]. [Tasha Smith] is brilliant, she’s nothing like the character, she’s just portraying what she sees in society, magnified.[sic]

People get mad and say that’s not us. Yes it is.

Turn on “Love & Hip Hop” and turn on “Desperate Housewives Of Atlanta” those are “reality shows.” You can’t call something reality then get mad when it shows up in the movies as reality but that’s what we’re doing. That’s where the cycle continues. They don’t do that in Africa, they don’t do that in France; they don’t connect with that message.

Do you think Tyler Perry only depicts black people in a negative light? There are a lot of black people who fit into the stereotype but there are a lot of black people who don’t.
You can’t call it a stereotype if it’s the majority. The most prevalent image in “urban society” right now is women like Nene [Leaks]. If there’s a fight that breaks out on “Love & Hip Hop” those people are one every blog, the cover of every magazine the next week. It’s not Taraji or Gabrielle, it’s whoever just got into a fist fight. Tyler’s not stereotyping, he’s holding up a mirror and people are mad at him because people don’t want to look at that image in that way.

Do you believe that the stereotypes we see on TV are prevalent in the race or just portrayed on TV? Is it really the majority of black women that act like Nene?
I have five sisters and two moms, none of them are like that! To me, I can say I’m offended if they want to represent that and don’t want to represent my mom, but my mom represents Phylicia Rashād and has been represented on TV all my life. I can’t say that. I don’t watch “Real Housewives,” I’ve never seen an episode of “Love & Hop Hop” I’m not supporting it, I’m not giving it ratings. I’m not making the stereotype exist on TV. You’ve watched it, you’ve added to why it’s on TV.

>>OK

This man is sadly what's wrong with a lot of black men. They have not embraced their culture and believe the white's man's perception of him and his woman is to be ashamed of. Maybe that is why, instead of looking for a woman like his mother in his own shade, he ran to a white woman.

He really needs a true lesson on African History and I don't just mean American-African History. I mean the one where the black woman were fighting in wars as Queens just like the men.

For him to look down on his own sister and make the statement that black women are like her as if there is something wrong with that, is despicable. This is why anytime white American decides to stereotype one of our own based on the act of another, we have no defense.

The problem is black people spend too much time worrying about what white people think and how we are perceived in the first place. This leads to low self esteem- buying things we cant afford to impress other people all so we can feel "worthy" in the first place. Do you think white people care how they are perceived to blacks? NO- that is why they live their lives free from a guilty conscious about the horrific deeds of their ancestors, or the next white person.

Wesley Snipes KILLED his career, over similar, senseless comments like this, about Black women.
